About Us
I have always worked within the property market, with many years’ experience in selling town, waterside and country homes from lease-hold flats to small holdings as well as working with large scale developments. I am now fulfilling my ambition of opening my own firm with the support of my family and I look forward to meeting you whether you are interested in buying or selling.
Our Story
Chris moved to Ivybridge as a young child where his mother and step-father took on general management of Wrangaton Golf Club and ultimately considers Ivybridge home.
A veteran of both the Ivybridge Community College and the Ivybridge Rugby Club he has cemented life-long friendships and connections who all remain incredibly important to him.
Meeting and marrying his wife in Ivybridge and starting their family in Ermington will always keep Ivybridge and the South Hams very close to both of their hearts.
Chris’ interest in the property market was kick-started after completing work placements with a South Hams agency. Following University, he moved to London in 1994 to progress his career and had the opportunity of working in some of the most formidable firms including Foxtons and Winkworth. During this time, Chris gained experience in top-end Sales & Lettings rising quickly to Manager.
With a growing reputation in the industry, Chris was ‘head-hunted’ by a former client in 2001 and asked to invest in development properties in Central London. As a Company Director, he carried out numerous projects including developing apartments that sold upwards of £1.35m. Sadly, the company disbanded in 2003 when one of the investors retired but it provided the chance for Chris to make the decision to return to the West Country.
After almost 10 years in London, Chris returned to Devon and took up the position of Senior Valuer in an established West Country Agents and Land Surveyors. Staying with that firm for almost 17 years he rose through Associate Partner to Board Level.
Following the untimely and tragic passing of his eldest daughter, Chris took an opportunity within the firm to expand their brand in a new county and relocate, but after 10 years, he was ever keen to return to the South Hams and sold his shares in the firm.
Back in Ivybridge with his wife and family and fulfilling his ambition of opening his own firm, Chris is providing a quality and personable service in a geographical area he adores.
Chris is an incredibly enthusiastic agent with a good sense of humour. His previous employment spans wide geographical and market awareness and he is competent at reading the ever-changing financial climates which strongly benefits his confidence in practice.
Retaining connections in London has helped him to identify trends early that enable him to keep his clients ahead of the market and with his South East experiences he is confident at tailoring the presentation of properties to attract buyers relocating from London and the South East.
Chris has vast experience in all aspects of estate agency from the sales of lease-hold flats all the way up to small-holdings and remains proficient in town, country and coastal properties throughout.
He is personable, smart, articulate and focussed. He remains conscientious and thrives on new challenges; he is an assertive negotiator and will always strive to balance the needs of both vendor and purchaser with equal importance, kindness and respect.
