Christopher’s South Hams are pleased to offer this immaculately presented detached family home set in this popular cul-de-sac on the fringes of South Brent.
The property was built in 2018 by Cavanna Homes and benefits from the remainder of the NHBC guarantee. Behind an attractive, natural stone storm porch is the entrance hall giving access to the downstairs rooms including cloakroom, spacious sitting room and the double aspect kitchen/dining room with double doors to the rear garden. On the first floor is the family bathroom and 3 bedrooms including a master with ensuite shower room. The third bedroom is currently used as an integrated nursery but can revert to either a separate bedroom or dressing room as originally intended in the build. Outside, there is a pedestrian gate adjacent to the garage inviting you to the rear garden. The single garage is detached with light and power connected and there is off-road parking for two vehicles. The private rear garden is laid to level lawn with a patio seating area ideal for entertaining. Beyond the garage is a substantial timber shed also with light and power connected. Originally a woollen and market centre, South Brent and its thriving village centre sits within the boundaries of Dartmoor National Park. Steep Hill framing the village gives South Brent its name from the Old English ‘brant’ meaning steep and on it are the ruins of an ancient building, supposed to have been a chapel, and of a windmill built circa 1790. Its history continues as part of The Manor of Brent, travelling back as far as the 11th century with its connections to nearby Buckfast Abbey.
Today, South Brent provides good transport links just off the A38 and a wide range of opportunities to explore the beautiful landscapes of Dartmoor and the South Hams from its tourist information base. The village boasts a wealth of amenities including a supermarket, post office, chemist, delicatessen, pub, cafes and antique shops. There is also a health centre, dental surgery, village church and primary school. Secondary education is offered at the renowned Ivybridge Community College, South Dartmoor Community College in Ashburton and King Edward VI in Totnes. South Brent is a lovely place to call home with an incredibly welcoming feel for all generations.
